DEVELOPMENT OF JAPANESE TEACHING CAI SYSTEM

我们打算开发一个计算机辅助教学系统，用于向非日语人士教授日语。我们开始利用商业上可用的廉价微型计算机作为基本工具，并为它们开发软件。我们的日语教学策略沿用了传统的日语教学方法。到1960年财政年度末，我们按照上述路线建立了一个制度。今年，我们对开发的日语教学CAI系统进行了实地考察。结果是，我们的CAI系统对那些完全不会日语的人来说效率不高。因为，我们试着把新酒倒进旧的皮虫里。我们从建立一种新的教学方法和工具开始，利用CAI系统进行日语教学。我们的新系统是一个复杂的系统，有文字处理机和微型计算机，不要求学生学习汉字书写。

We intended to develop a CAI system for teaching Japanese to non-Japanese speaking people. We started to utilize commercial avilable inexpensive microcomputers as a basic tools and developed softwares for them. Our teaching strategies for teaching Japanese was followed traditional teaching method of Japanese teaching. We established a system folloeing the above mentionaed line by the end of 1960 fiscal year.In this year we made field study for evaluation of our developed Japanese teaching CAI system. And, we got a result that our CAI system is not efficient fo, teaching Japanese who has no Japanese at all. Because, we tried to pour new wine into an old leather bug. We started from the begining for establishing new teaching method and tool for teaching Japanese by a CAI system. Our new system is a complex system with a wordprocessor and microcomputer and students are not asked to learn Kanji character writing.
