29年度には，この間の共同研究の成果の発表を行うとともに，トカラ語圏で発見されるソグド語の題記，すなわち千仏洞の壁面に書き残された銘文について共同研究を行った．慶昭蓉は8月にブダペストで開催されたエフタル民族に関する国際学会に出席し，エフタル民族に関する史料，とりわけ漢文資料について重要な発表をおこなった．この学会のプロシーディングは現在編集の最中でありまもなく刊行されるであろう．エフタルは5世紀から6世紀にかけて中央アジアを支配した系統不明の謎に満ちた民族であるが，この時期は中央アジアが中国やインドなどの大文化圏から文化的に独立した時期と重なる．トカラ語やソグド語などシルクロード地域の言語に借用語という形で影響を残しており，共同研究の過程で注目してきたテーマであった．吉田豊は，慶が専門とするトカラ語圏の仏教に関する情報を得て，トカラ語圏の仏教の影響を受けたソグド語仏典について研究を進めた．その一つは現在サンクトペテルブルグに保管されている仏典の断片群で，それらが仏陀の伝記文学のなかでもとりわけ有名な「舎衛城の神変」のソグド語版であることを明らかにすることができた．その成果は，ベルリンで開催されたシルクロードに於ける言語と宗教の交流に関する国際学会で発表した．状況証拠からトカラ語圏で流布していた仏典からソグド語訳されたことは明らかであり，今後慶の研究によりトカラ語ないし梵語の原典が発見される可能性がある．昨年度後半からは，トカラ語圏のクチャのキジル千仏洞，クムトラ千仏洞で見つかるソグド語の銘文の研究を行っている．これは慶が自ら現地に赴きトカラ語の銘文を調査する過程で発見したソグド語の落書きである．この千仏洞を訪れた仏教徒が書き残した落書きと見られ，他に類例がない極めて珍しい資料である．近く慶がトカラ語銘文についての報告書を出版する際に，付録として発表する予定である．
