项目摘要

本研究の目的は、これまでの沖縄現代史に置いてアポリアであった米軍統治時代のラジオ政策を実証面で深化させるとともに、冷戦下沖縄のメディアと文化政治、人びとのラジオ文化受容との関係に注目し、住民側のラジオ受容と地域文化の変容を総合的実証的に明らかにすることである。本年度は、主にこれまでの資料調査や分析に基づく研究発表を行った。特に、米国国立公文書館で収集した資料を中心的に取り上げた発表に努めた。口頭発表として、20世紀メディア研究所第103回研究会において「占領期沖縄の米軍広報活動とラジオ放送-米軍写真記録を史料として-」と題する報告を行った。また、研究論文として「琉球列島における米陸軍省のメディア政策（1947-1954）-ガリオア予算に関する基礎的検討-」と題する論考をまとめ、メディア史研究会機関誌の『メディア史研究』第40号に掲載された。このように研究全体としては、冷戦下の米国占領地文化政策の運用について、写真資料を含め米軍一次公文書から実証的に跡付けるよう努めた。今後の課題として、これまでの研究を取りまとめた総括的な論文の執筆が必要である。さらに、占領期日本やドイツなどにおける米国占領地文化政策と沖縄の事例とを相互検証し、冷戦下文化政策の連続性や地域特異性を解明することがもとめられる。
