本研究の目的は、中国・三国時代(3世紀)の出土文字史料である走馬楼呉簡について、形態観察に基づく整理と、歴史的・地理的環境との考量によって分析することで、後漢末・三国期の臨湘県地域の状況、これと臨湘県外との繋がり、さらにその背景となる前漢から南北朝時代(前3世紀～6世紀)湖南・湖北地域の状況を把握し、文献に基づく従来の歴史理解、さらに東アジア書記文化に対する理解の深化に資することにある。以上の観点から、所定の計画に基づき、第1年度の本年は走馬楼呉簡中の賦税納入関係簡および戸籍簡に示される郷―丘統属関係の整理、出現する臨湘県内の地名の整理を引き続き行うとともに、臨湘県地域が湖南・湖北地域、さらにその外側に接続する嶺南・中原地域との関係でどのような位置を占めているかについて、地方志等の整理と検討を進めた。その成果の一端は、2022年12月18日に開催された学習院大学東洋文化研究所設立70周年記念シンポジウム「世界に展開する東洋学―海外と日本の中国史研究―」にて、黎明釗氏の講演「長沙五一廣場簡牘：東漢長沙郡臨湘縣的社會生活與地方社群的分析」に対するコメントの形で示した。また前漢～南北朝期の臨湘県地域と湖南・湖北および嶺南・中原地域の繋がりについて検討するには、文献史料とあわせ近年出土の長沙五一広場東漢簡牘等の関連出土資料の検討が重要となる。これに関して本年は、五一広場簡牘等の講読会への参加を通して積極的に知見を得る環境作りを行ったほか、新型コロナの影響で停止していた長沙呉簡研究会の活動再開に参与し、オンラインでの月例会設定を担当するなど、次年度に向け研究ネットワークの構築を進めた。
