本研究では、障害学生の増加や支援ニーズの多様化、支援の遠隔化等の動きに、大学がどのように対応しているのかに関して資料収集・調査を行い、近年の障害学生支援をとりまく状況の変化が支援体制に与える影響を整理・分析することを目的とする。研究初年度である令和4年度は、近年の障害学生修学支援の動向を確認すべく、全国調査（日本学生支援機構「障害学生の修学支援に関する実態調査」）の結果を参考にしながら、支援現場に目を向け現状と課題を整理した。全国調査によると、関連委員会の設置、担当部署の設置、担当者の配置等を行っている大学の割合は高く、ほとんどの高等教育機関で何等かの障害学生支援体制が整備されている。高等教育機関に在籍する障害等のある学生（障害学生）数は増加の傾向にあるが、障害種ごとにみると身体障害については調査開始当初から安定して一定数確認されているのに対し、精神障害・発達障害・病弱・虚弱の区分については年々増加していることから、連動して支援ニーズも多様化していると予想される。このような背景を受け支援現場では、複数の新たなニーズへの対応が求められている。大学等によっては、少数の特別なニーズへの個別対応から始まった障害学生支援が、多数の多様な学生への支援の必要性に迫られる事態となっている。授業中支援の方法は、授業形式に拠る側面も大きいが、感染症拡大下での遠隔授業の経験を経て、配慮としてのオンライン対応をどう位置付けていくのかも検討課題の一つである。また、授業に関する支援では、人的支援に加えて支援機器を活用するケースの増加が見られ、支援のICT化がうかがえる。今後は、本年度の成果として得た障害学生の増加・支援ニーズの多様化・支援のICT化をキーワードに、複数大学の状況に関する情報収集を行い、動態分析へと繋げたい。
