障がいのある子どもの養育者にとっては、ライフステージごとの健康(well-being)状況、健康(well-being)に影響する生活や社会環境に関する情報を得ることで将来に見通しを持って、子育てができる。そのため、本研究は、障がいがある子どもとない子どもの間に生じる健康(well-being)の格差を各ライフステージで把握し、その格差が生じる健康の社会的決定要因を特定することで、すべてに恩恵がいきわたる子育て支援の推進に寄与することを目的としている。障がいがある者とない者の健康格差の実態を把握する研究（①障がい児の健康格差実態把握研究）、障がい児に特有なライフステージ別の健康の社会的決定要因についてレビューを行う研究（②障がい児のライフステージ別健康の社会的決定要因特定研究)、ユニバーサルアプローチに基づく障がい児支援の実践研究 (③実践研究)を行う計画である。①②に関連して、障がい児のwell-beingを向上するために利用する児発達支援について、その歴史的変遷、子どもや家族への効果、評価方法、今後の方向性など、ナラティブレビューを行い、論文化した。児童発達支援は、障がい児の健康に影響する重要な背景因子の一つである。また、③に関連して、米国マサチューセッツ総合病院（MGH）のダウン症候群のある子どもや大人を対象とした生活・医療・栄養・福祉・余暇など健康(well-being)に関するライフステージ別の情報を翻訳した。
