本研究では機能範疇、特に不定詞節を作るために必要なInflのふるまいを考察した.具体的には、英語において、bare infinitivalが現れる場合とinfinitival markerのtoを伴う場合があることに注目し、どういう条件のもとで動詞句がIPに投射され、どういう条件のもとでは動詞句がはだかのままで許されるのかということを、知覚動詞や使役動詞の補文の構造を例に取りながら調べた.その結果,VP specの要素がその場でライセンスされない場合はVPは必ずIPに投射されなければならないという条件と、GrimshawのMinimal Projectionを始めとする諸条件とのOptimality theoreticな相互作用によって、英語の不定詞補文のふるまいが説明できることがわかった.これによって、機能範疇を語彙範疇の拡大投射としてとらえ、文法の諸原則からその分布を説明しようとするGrimshawのアプローチの妥当性と、MergeとMoveとを統一的に扱うchomskyの構造生成の利点を示したことになる.今後は、ロマンス諸語に見られるrestructuringとのparametricな違いや、ポルトガル語のように一致を示す不定詞節との違いについて考察し、英語に特有のinfinitival particleであるtoの特性をより明らかにしていくことを通じて、節を作り上げていく上で機能範疇の果たす役割についての知見が得られるであろう。

This study examines the functional categories, special infinitives, and necessary information. The concrete verb, the English verb, the bare infinitival verb, the infinitive marker, the verb, the verb. As a result, the elements of VP spec are everywhere, and the conditions for VP to be projected on IP, Grimshaw's Minimal Projection, and the Optimality theoretical interaction between the conditions are also included, which is explained in the English infinitive supplement. The functional category of the word category, the large projection of the word category, the distribution of the grammatical principles, the explanation of the appropriateness of the Grimshaw, the Merge of the Move, the unification of the chomsky structure, the creation of the advantage point, the explanation of the grammar. In the future, we will see the structure of the infinitive section and the infinitive section of the English language. We will see the results of the functional category.
