英文摘要
I am Zsofia Szlamka, psychologist, and researcher and I am applying for the ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship. As a Fellow I would aim to conduct research at The London School of Economics and Political Science, based at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC), under the mentorship of Professor Martin Knapp. As an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow I aim to consolidate my track record as a researcher. I would like to keep conducting research on how we can make mental health support available in different countries and cultures. Moreover, I would like to do so by maximising the social impact of research: creating knowledge and reaching as many community members as possible. Further, I propose to collect additional data beyond my PhD. I plan to explore how culture and context may influence how mental health support works in an organisational setting such as the workplace. Lastly, during this Fellowship and beyond, I aim to become an independent researcher using what is called "participatory research": involving community members in every step of the research process as key actors and decision-makers.I plan to achieve these goals through a range of Fellowship activities. First, I would like to use my time to finish writing the academic papers I have started, based on data from my PhD. I currently have four such papers in preparation. Second, I would like to focus on strengthening and expanding my research network. At the London School of Economic I would like to get to know the work of existing research groups at the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre. Further, I aim to do a one-month visit to Orygen Global in Melbourne, Australia. I have been affiliated to Orygen since 2019 when I became a youth research advisor to their global community of mental health researchers. The aim of this visit would be to share the results of my PhD, and discuss ways in which we could collaborate on upcoming research grants in mental health. Next, I hope to conduct additional research on how culture and context may influence mental health support in organisational settings such as the workplace. Lastly, I aim to develop a detailed research proposal and apply for funding opportunities. This would allow me to conduct independent research following the ESRC Fellowship. In summary, by the end of the Fellowship I would like to:Submit all four manuscripts in preparation for publication.Complete two caregiver workshops on mental health in Argentina.Collect data on the cultural components of mental health at work and prepare a manuscript based on the results.Get to know the research network at LSE and conduct a visit to Orygen.Develop a detailed research proposal and submit it for further Fellowship and grant opportunities.
