英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in term and near-term infants. There is accumulating evidence, largely from animal studies, that abnormalities of endothelial function may play a role in PPHN. To our knowledge, there is no information specifically assessing endothelial function in neonates who have experienced PPHN. The purpose of this study is to provide preliminary information about possible endothelial dysfunction in PPHN using a noninvasive technique.
