英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. (from ClinicalTrials.gov website) This study is no longer recruiting subjects. Vaccines may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. Colony-stimulating factors such as sargramostim increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood. It is not yet known which treatment regimen is more effective for melanoma. This randomized Phase III trial is studying peptide vaccine therapy and/or sargramostim and comparing how well they work in preventing recurrences for patients with surgically resected locally advanced or surgically resected metastatic melanoma.
