This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. TThis project is for technological developments for the implementation of High-throughput X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (HTXAS). These developments include the automation and streamlining of beam line alignment, sample alignment, data acquisition strategies, data acquisition and analysis. The developements are targeted for the general user community as well as for the extension of structural genomics efforts by incorporation of x-ray absorption spectroscopy as a complementary tool to protein crystallography. Feasibility studies to assess sample types and sample holder alternatives have been performed. Prof. Scott, who spent a sabbatical leave at SSRL this year, contiues to be the lead of the project.
