Departmental shared computational facilities

The research areas of most members of the Dalhousie mathematics division requires access to relatively fast modern computers.  Areas of departmental research which require extensive computer time include the inverse problem of cardiac imaging, pattern formation in reaction diffusion systems, hexadecimal game analysis, invariant theory of Killing tensors and multidimensional numerical methods of integration.  The vast and varied needs of the department can be most easily met with access to a computational cluster. Access to a cluster would not only assist the named researchers, but would be of aid to all members of the department including graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and visitors. The need is most keenly felt by graduate students.  Graduate students have a limited amount of time allotted to complete the research for their degrees and thus require timely access to our computational facilities.
