An inert atmosphere glove box is required to conduct research into the development of transition metal catalysts for element-hydrogen and carbon-carbon bond formation reactions.  The catalysts have potential applications in the production of chiral alcohols for the flavours and fragrances industry and chiral amines for the pharmaceutical industry.  They might also be used for hydrogen storage and production processes. The catalysts may enable new compounds to be made or existing compounds to be made more efficiently. New chemical principles will be discovered in the course of this research.
