Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is an extremely powerful, broad scope tool for determination of molecular structure, particularly molecules in solution. It is useful for researchers in industry, academia, and government and is applicable to research in organic, inorganic, environmental, analytical, and physical chemistry, as well as biochemistry, bioorganic and bioinorganic chemistry. Researchers in medicine, polymer sciences, pharmaceuticals, and materials all need skills in NMR spectroscopy.This application seeks to upgrade an existing NMR spectrometer at Carleton University in order to provide approximately 100 researchers and students with greater access to this critical and powerful technique.
