The primary objective of this NSERC-funded research program is the development of bioconversion technologies, including microbial fuel cells, using glycerol from biodiesel production as the feedstock. High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) will be a central analytical tool for monitoring of glycerol conversion in microbial cultures, and for detection and identification of the conversion products.
