A modular rheometer system is requested to support biomedical research, the study of nanofluids, advanced material surface properties and the development of smart polymers. The requested equipment will be used to measure the material properties of liquids, tissues and polymers. A modular system has been requested that includes heating accessories, a variety of testing geometries and a small angle light scattering module. It will advance the research of 6 emerging engineering laboratories in Canada and help to train our next generation of engineers, scientists and medical researchers. The equipment will enable research on how we diagnose and treat disease, the understanding of advanced surfaces and nanofluid properties and smart polymers.
