Agile MV is a Montreal based medical device company that specializes in endovascular devices. The specialty catheters manufactured by Agile MV are made from thermoplastics and often require thermal joining of different polymers. Currently, quality control is conducted by sampling and destructive testing. This means not all catheters are tested and the ones tested cannot be sold. Over the next 6 months, the Leask Lab will use dynamic mechanical analysis of a series of catheters to identify if non-destructive mechanical methods can be used to augment and limit the dependency of destructive testing to certify all catheters.********
