The diagnosis of diseases relies on advanced technologies for detecting minute amounts of antigens in the blood. However, current analytical techniques are not sufficiently sensitive to use them for early disease detection in the case of cancer and other complex diseases. Here, we propose to develop new approaches for extending the limits of detection of analytical techniques. Success will allow to find new biomakers for disease, and eventually may pave the way to new diagnostic devices for use in research and in disease diagnosis and management.
