GOAL: The aim of the project is to improve a method aimed at predicting the detection of tumors by use of near infrared tomography. This program is included in a more general aim at elaborating a novel technique for the HUMAN BODY IMAGING that is more sensitive (improved resolution) and free of sides effects (the source being in the near infrared). In summary, it is the analysis of the response of a laser, emitting in a different frequency than that associated with X-rays (i.e. infrared), that is directed throughout organic tissues that makes it possible to determine whether or not these tissues are sane. Here, we also want to lower the threshold of detection of potential tumors. It is mandatory that the potential tumors may be detected at an earlier stage of growth. This will be made possible provided that the radiative properties of the tissues will vary with the presence of a suspect mass.
