Computed tomography (CT), an x-ray imaging technique that produces 3D images, has increased in popularity clinically, and has been extended to include micro-CT studies of biological models. My proposed studies will optimize the imaging and reconstruction techniques for CT based on the physics principles governing x-ray imaging, that could be implemented for clinical CT or micro-CT scanners. Areas of research will include:
