The aerospace industry is often at the leading edge of materials and processes technologies. Structural components have to meet high resistance requirements, while still being lightweight. Part design is thus of critical importance. Unfortunately, lacking knowledge about the behavior of the materials during forming, designers often rely on norms that may be too conservative or even worse, not well suited to the case of the part and material that they are working on, leading to defects in the final part.
