Chemical separations, reactions, and catalysis are of fundamental and applied industrial importance in Canada and globally. At SiliCycle, a Canadian company offering solutions to the global chemical industry, they manufacture supported chromatographic phases, supported reagents, and supported catalysts based on silica gel. A thorough investigation by solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) of carbon, silicon, and hydrogen could elucidate the origins of batch variability. This Engage project will enable SiliCycle to produce improved products and increase sales.
