项目摘要
The College of New Caledonia and Thermal Electronics Corp. (TECTEG) are engaging into a collaborative research project related to the use of thermoelectric generation (TEG) technology attached to wood stoves. We are researching the implementation of a high temperature protective mechanism in wood stove applications susceptible to TEG module failure from overheating.
TECTEG is a specialty manufacturer, located in Aurora, Ontario, with over two decades of experience in producing thermoelectric components for cooling and power generation. TECTEG will benefit through developing a technology that will prolong the life of the company's manufactured TEG systems and, potentially, increase the operational warranty of their products.
The College will transfer to TECTEG knowledge related to the overall mechanical design, including the mechanical cost analysis, and the testing results for optimizing power generation during periods of extreme temperature. The implementation of TEG technology in conjunction with heat-waste recovery applications can improve the overall energy efficiency of numerous residential and industrial energy systems.
