The Project entails the development of an intelligent wireless mesh network that will form part of an advanced, cloudconnected aircraft telemetry system capable of reading multiple sensors on light aircraft and sorting, compressing, encrypting, and sending these data to appropriate personnel via a web portal. The system improves upon a leading edge telematics system designed for commercial vehicles fleets, and will be a key technology to enable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to operate safely and efficiently as fleets with minimal human intervention. The system will provide vital and timely asset management data and will also be suited to the general aviation (small aircraft) market for automated maintenance tracking, log books, and other purposes.
