Key Rehab is a Canadian company based in Kitchener, Ontario, providing rehabilitation services to individualswho have experienced brain injury. They integrate technology, software and data analysis to developpersonalized recovery plans that assist patients in recovery and re-integration following brain injury. A keyenabling tool of such treatment is the development of accurate, quantitative tools for measurement andassessment of motor and cognitive performance, that can be utilized in the clinical and home settings. Thisproposal seeks to develop a mobile tool for the measurement and assessment of performance duringrehabilitation following concussion, focusing on the vestibular-ocular reflex (VOR), the coordination of headand eye movements. The proposal aims to develop algorithms for measuring head pose and gaze directionduring VOR rehabilitation using a mobile platform, and a user interface for providing measurement andperformance feedback to the patient and their physiotherapist. The proposed system will be validatedexperimentally with laboratory grade motion capture and in the clinical setting.
