Google, Facebook, YouTube: among today's most popular Web sites... Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Word, Oracle Java: found on most computers... While programs used to be written in one programming language, these recent systems have in common to be patchworks of different programming languages, typically JavaScript, Java, and C++, plus some SQL. Thus, the analyses and patterns developed for "mono-language programs" are inadequate for more recent systems. We will develop analysis and patterns and perform studies on the unique nature of recent systems to better understand today's systems and to help build more robust systems for tomorrow's needs.
