SAIT was approached by Enlighten Innovations Inc. (Enlighten) to evaluate capabilities of its proprietary process utilized in the removal of sulphur and metals contamination in oil sands waste streams and the production of carbon anodes. The technology has the potential to significantly reduce costs of the oil industry while improving its environmental record by reducing solid bitumen waste.
