Improving the quality and efficiency of ERA's systems

Preventing environmental pollution and reporting environmental impact is an important task for manufacturingfacilities. ERA environmental (ERA) provides software solutions to cope with the challenges that areassociated with quantifying the environmental impact and simplifying manufacturing facilities' regulatoryreporting. The software solutions from ERA have been widely leveraged by companies globally.Due to the success of ERA's software solution, a larger number and more diversified companies start tobecome ERA's clients, leading the software system to face the challenges of ever higher quality and efficiency. Not just for ERA, the quality and efficiency of ultra-large-scale systems have been an emerging and an extremely important topic insoftware engineering research and practice.In order to improve quality and efficiency of ERA's systems, we plan to develop a toolset, consisting ofmonitoring infrastructures, supporting infrastructure, analysis models, evaluational metrics and tools validatedthrough rigorous empirical studies that are specifically designed to improve the quality and efficiency of ERA'ssystems. The outcomes of this work will advance the state-of-the-art in quality and efficiency assuranceactivities in software engineering for large software systems and improve both the product and the engineeringmethodology in ERA.
