Plantaform Technology Inc ("Plantaform") is a Canadian startup (www.plantaform.com) founded in 2019 that aims at commercializing an innovative fogponics-based indoor garden called "Rejuvenate". Plantaform is initiating a new applied research collaboration with La Cité's experts in the Centre for Expertise in Smart Prototyping (CEPI). This collaboration will help the R&D team of Plantaform optimize and complete the experiments planned to accelerate the development of its prototype. Rejuvenate is designated to provide water and nutrients efficiently to plants via the technology of fogponics cutting down tremendously the maintenance required compared to its competitors using the standard hydroponics route. For this to work, the fog must be distributed to all plants equally and effectively. La Cité`s team will work closely with Plantaform`s team to provide experience-based suggestions to improve their current prototype modeling using the Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) software. Plantaform will be using the results from this project to optimize the design of its prototype for manufacturing and to grow plants, herbs and flowers successfully in Rejuvenate with minimal attention. Plantaform plants to start its operations and manufacturing in Canada by 2022.
