One of the primary public policy objectives of cannabis legalization is to eliminate the illicit cannabis market by providing regulated product. All licensed producers face a variety of challenges associated with improving the quality of their products, increasing yield, reducing operating costs, implementing sustainable processes, and meeting market trends. NC has been engaged with industry partners/associations to address these challenges. Both need and opportunity for focused cannabis research is evident and provides a compelling rationale for targeted investment to advance capacity-building. Targeted investment to support the research will also ensure post-COVID economic recovery for the cannabis industry. NC's R&I division have demonstrated capabilities and commitment to support cannabis/hemp research projects in an equitable, diverse and inclusive way. Students will gain significant benefits from involvement in applied research projects, within our dedicated /licensed space.
