Comparative Studies on Popular Consciousness in Modern History of Asia

民众意识研究是日本史学的新动向之一。我们的研究项目考察了这一趋势如何与亚洲一些国家的史学共享，我们确信这一趋势在一些国家，如印度史学中的“下属研究”群体中已经发展起来。本课题还以亚洲近代史的比较观点重新审视了日本史学界“人民史学”派的研究成果，发现了一些值得进一步研究的问题。

It is well-known that investigation of popular consciousness is one of the new trends of historical science in Japan. Our project has investigated how this trend has been shared with some Asian countries'historial science and we made sure that this trend had developed in some countries such as the "Subaltern Studies"group in Indian historical science. Our project also reexamined the results of "people's history" group in Japanese historical science with comparative view points in Modern history of Asia and found some problems which called for farther investigations.
