THE ACTUAL CONDITION OF THE RELATION BETWEEN GRANDPARENTS AND GRANDCHILDREN IN THREE GENERATION FAMILY

本研究旨在厘清三代家庭祖孙关系的实际状况。这项研究的对象是126对祖父母，他们和0到6岁的孙子一起住在静冈县的日托所。结果表明：1)祖母对孙辈的照顾多于祖父。祖母和祖父都与孙辈关系密切。爷爷奶奶都很满意和孙子孙女一起生活。祖母和祖父都从孙辈的成长中发现了生命的价值。5)在祖父母与孙辈的关系上，祖父母的职业存在显著差异。

The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual condition of the relation between grandparents and grandchildren in three generation families. The subjects of the research were the 126 pairs of gransparents living with grandchildren between 0 and 6 years of age who were going to the day nursery in Shizuoka Prefecture.The findings are summarized as follows : 1) Granmothers took care their grandchildren more than grandfathers. 2) Both grandmothers and grandfaters were in close intimacy with their grandchildren. 3) Both grandmothers and grandfathers were very satisfied with living with their grandchildren together. 4) Both grandmothers and grandfathers found their life worth living in the growth of their grandchildren. 5) As for the relation between grandparents and granschildren, there were significant differences in the occupation of grandparents.
