A Study on Social Position of Women in Modern Tenno System

近代以来，妇女在日本社会中的地位较低，妇女职业仅限于教师、助产士或医生等。在日本的皇帝制度下，女性要想发挥自己的官僚能力，只有这样才能成为“宫廷女郎”。人们对Nyokan人的印象很差。到目前为止，它往往被以某种方式视为皇帝的附属品。在这项研究中，报道了一份可以让女性施展才华的职业--“尼奥坎”。

The place of women in Japanese society was low in the modern period.The profession for women was valid (limited) to a teacher, a midwife or a doctor and so on. It was the only way to be "Nyokan" (Court Lady), if a woman wants to give play to her ability as a bureaucrat in the Emperor system in Japan. People have a minus image against a Nyokan. It tends to be regarded somehow as an accessory for the Emperor so far. In this study, a "Nyokan" as a job which women could give play to her ability was reported.
