Clinical-Psychological study on interpersonal communication Behavior of Elderly Persons with Dementia

本研究对护理人员与失智长者之间的人际沟通进行调查。结果发现，护理人员在交流过程中难以理解痴呆症患者的行为；并应对他们的BPSD（痴呆症的行为和心理症状）和攻击行为。研究还发现，护理人员是通过痴呆症患者的“动作和动作方式”来理解他们的请求行为，而不是通过他们的言语和表情。在排泄和洗澡的场景中比在吃饭和互动的场景中更难区分他们的要求。

In this study, the interpersonal communication between care staff and the elderly persons with dementia were examined.As the result, it was found that care staff feels it difficult to understand the behaviors of the persons with dementia during the communication ; and to cope with their BPSD(Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia) and with aggressive behaviors. It was also found that the care staff is guided by the "movement as well as the way of movement" of the dementia persons to understand their request behaviors rather than by their utterance and countenance. And that it is harder to distinguish their requests at the scenes of excretion and bathing than at the scenes of meal and interaction.
