Impact of deoxynivalenol on digestibility of nutrients in growing pigs

本项目的总体目的是通过更好地了解脱氧雪腐镰刀菌醇对饲料消化率的影响，提高对受DON污染的饲料的利用。具体而言，目的是：1-确定DON对氨基酸回肠消化率以及磷和钙的总消化率的影响；2-评估抗霉菌毒素添加剂对DON污染饲料消化率的影响。事实上，即使已知DON会影响饲料的总消化率，但DON对氨基酸、磷和钙消化率的具体影响尚不清楚。此外，一些抗霉菌毒素添加剂可以有效减少DON对生长的负面影响，但这些添加剂对DON污染日粮中膳食营养物质有效性的潜在影响有待确定。本项目获得的结果将对更好地利用霉菌毒素污染饲料，特别是含DON的饲料产生短期和长期影响。该项目还将开启几个研究领域，以了解DON对营养物质消化率影响的潜在机制，从而了解动物营养物质的可用性。最后，通过制定新的策略来有效地利用受污染的饲料，该项目将有助于更有效地利用饲料资源和发展养殖技术，以保持加拿大养猪业的竞争力。

The general purpose of this project is to improve the use of deoxynivalenol (DON)-contaminated diets through better knowledges of the effects of DON on feed digestibility. Specifically, the objectives are 1- to determine the effects of DON on the ileal digestibility of amino acids and total digestibility of phosphorus and calcium and 2-to evaluate the effect anti-mycotoxin additive on digestibility DON-contaminated feeds. In fact, even if it is know that DON can affect the total digestibility of feed, the specific effects of DON on the digestibility of amino acids, phosphorus and calcium were not clearly known. Furthermore, some anti-mycotoxin additives can be effective in reducing negative effects of DON on growth, but the potential effect of these additives on the availability dietary nutrients in DON-contaminated diets need to be determined. The results obtained in this project will have a short and long term impact to a better use of mycotoxin contaminated feeds, especially with DON. This project will also open several areas of investigation that will allow to understand the underlying mechanisms of the effect of DON on nutrient digestibility and thus the availability of nutrients for the animal. Finally, by developing new strategies to use efficiently contaminated feed this project will contribute to use more efficiently feed resources and develop farming techniques to maintain the competitiveness of Canadian swine industry.
