The Wawa gold corridor is an area to the east of Wawa, Ontario that is being explored for gold by Red Pine**Exploration Inc. The corridor has been the site of numerous small gold mines in the past, but holds**considerable potential for further development. The type of gold deposit in this area is similar to many in other**parts of Canada and the questions faced by Red Pine are typical of those for other exploration companies, the**most important of which is why gold grades are high in some areas and low in others. This research will**address that question by examining the rocks in the Wawa gold corridor and assessing the reasons for gold**enrichment using a variety of types of chemical analysis. These investigations will help Red Pine focus their**exploration efforts on areas that have favourable characteristics for enhanced gold grades and will allow them**to more effectively utilize the geochemical data that they routinely collect.
