There is a global need to reduce energy consumption and companies are looking to new technologies to help them reduce their**energy requirements. Utilizing less energy reduces damage to the environment and dependency on the fossil fuels that are**becoming increasingly limited in supply. Less energy consumption also results in less costs that helps businesses bottom lines.**Abram Refrigeration and Systems services located in Sarnia is working on a new technology to exploit an energy saving air**multiplier design shown to reduce power consumption and increase efficiency of cooling towers. In an effort to move the air**multiplier from prototype phase to an improved design Abram is collaborating with Lambton College's Bluewater Technology**Access Centre. The research team consisting of a research lead, research associates and research students will focus on**optimizing the design but also testing it with quantified performance gains and documentation suitable for commercialization.**Improving cooling tower performance, reducing energy consumption and lowering maintenance costs for commercial and**industrial cooling towers will give Abram a competitive edge and help to increase their market share. In addition to the economic**benefits this technology will also provide positive environmental impacts.
