Recent developments in nanotechnology have led to the efficient and cost-effective development of large-area monolayer exfoliated 2D nanomaterials. As a result, Evercloak is commercializing a manufacturing platform for producing continuous, large-area monolayers of exfoliated 2D nanomaterials as they possess unique characteristics that can revolutionalize the industries of climate control, water treatment, and public health. Previously, Lambton College and Evercloak developed a prototype membrane dehumidification system. However, to fully realize the commercialization potential of this prototype, Evercloak needs to optimize and scale up its Go Ink production process to produce various materials and inks. In collaboration, Evercloak and Lambton College will test the effectiveness of the nano-coating technology in real world applications and scale up the production batch process from 0.5L to 20L while aiming to reduce production cost and maintain performance and quality. In addition, the research team will examine the feasibility of a continuous production process through proof of principle modeling and analysis, limited bench-scale feasibility experiment, and cost modeling and sensitivity scenario analysis. The successful outcome of this collaborative project will allow Evercloak to break into the market quickly and easily. Within the first two to five years, Evercloak expects a potential revenue generation of $3 million. Furthermore, the optimized Go Ink production process will lead to other opportunities such as virus and bacterial protection, ink applications, ultra-thin nanofilms to curb greenhouse gas emissions, transforming seawater into drinking water, and improving batteries and solar cells for renewable energy.
