International: Variational Methods in Quasilinear Partial Differential Equations

这是美国犹他州立大学王志强博士和北京大学刘家全教授的中美合作研究项目，目的是利用变分方法研究拟线性椭圆型偏微分方程。该研究问题是数学界非常感兴趣和重要的问题，可以为物理科学家，特别是从事微材料研究的物理科学家提供有用的工具。美国和中国的科学家都是这一领域的专家，其结果是互利的。本研究项目将由美国国家科学基金会和中国国家自然科学基金共同资助。

0401753WangThis is a U.S.-China cooperative research project between Dr. Zhi-Qiang Wang, Utah State University and Professor Jia-Quan Liu, Peking University to study quasilinear elliptic partial differential equations using variational methods. The research problem is of great interest and importance to mathematics communities and can provide useful tools to physical scientists, especially those involved in the micromaterials research. Both the U.S. and the Chinese scientists are experts in this area, and the results are mutually beneficial. This research project will be jointly supported by the NSF and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
