项目摘要

長引く新型コロナの影響でフィールドワークをすることができず、小国方言における新しい方言語彙の情報が更新されなかった。そのため、コロナ禍であっても方言データが手に入れることができる方言のデータ収集と分析を進めた。将来的に小国方言の研究が進んだ段階で比較することを意図してのことである。その結果、肥筑方言のうちで飯塚市方言においてはモダリティをあらわす『トル』形式があることがわかった。先行研究の中には例が散見され、その存在範囲は西日本全体に及ぶと推定されるが、従来アスペクトの形式としての研究は数多く存在する一方で、モダリティ形式として詳しく研究をした例はないため新規性が高いテーマであると考えられる。とりわけ、これまで指摘のなかった方言の強調イントネーションもモダリティを表すことがあるため、形態素（接辞）によってあらわされるモダリティとイントネーションによってあらわされるモダリティを区別している点も新しいと考えられる。どの品詞に『トル』が後接するかによってアスペクトをあらわすのかモダリティをあらわすのかに傾向があることも明らかにした。アスペクト接辞がどのような経過をたどってモダリティ接辞に変化していくのかという通時的な視点での研究にもつながるもので、今後の展開も見込まれるものである。収集・分析した内容については論文としてまとめて査読誌に投稿したが不採用であったため、改稿した上で再び投稿する予定である。
