2022年度は、K-Ah（鬼界アカホヤ）噴火前後の時期の九州地方の遺跡における遺物の保存状況確認を継続しつつ、動物遺存体の分析を本格的に開始した。また、弘前大学人文学部・スウェーデンのルンド大学・ストックホルム大学の研究者との協働体制「CALDERA」プログラムを立ち上げた。その概要を以下に述べる。なお、噴火による被災状況に基づいて行った地域分けの呼称であるが、国際間の協力において混乱を避けるため、以下のように訂正している：火砕流にさらされた地域＞Zone0、テフラ層厚30cm以上＞Zone1、20cm以上＞Zone2、0cm以上＞Zone3、その外＞Zone4（１）Zone0及び1の貝塚の動物遺存体、とくに噴火直前については苦浜式期の霧島市宮坂貝塚、直後については南さつま市上焼田貝塚（西之薗から轟B2式）に集中して調査した。いずれもSpecial working placeの可能性が高いと判断した。（２）CALDERAを通じて、昨年度の宮崎県清武川流域に続き、同県天神河内遺跡（いずれもZone1）、鹿児島県南田代および牧野遺跡（Zone0）、佐賀県西畑瀬および九郎遺跡（Zone3）の土器脂質分析を行った。計91点中から、81点について良好な脂質資料を検出した。（４）昨年度来、英雑誌Antiquityに投稿中である、K-Ah噴火前後の種子島地域の生業に関する論文は、タイトルをDisaster, survival and recovery: the resettlement of Tanegashima Island following the Kikai-Akahoya ‘super-eruption’, 7.3ka cal BPと変えて、2023年3月現在第３校を終え、掲載に向けての最終段階に入った。（５）活動の概要を、日本考古学協会で発表した：桒畑光博、内山純蔵、上條信彦、 スヴェン・イサクソン、ピーター・ジョーダン「巨大噴火災害を受領採集民はいかにして凌いだのか」日本考古学協会第88回総会 研究発表（2022年5月29日）
