本研究では，知識統合を「他者との関わりを通じて，ある事象についての複数の知識を個別に説明する問題解決方略から，複数の知識を関連づけて包括的に説明する問題解決方略へと変化する過程および変化後の状態」と定義し，子どもの知識統合の発達的な変化について検討する。具体的には，幼児期から児童期中期の子どもを対象に，他者との相互作用を通じた問題解決方略の変容過程とその安定性について，（１）ペア実験を通じた年齢に伴う知識統合の質的変化，（２）知識の活用に関する表現の縦断的変化の２つの観点から知識統合の発達的変化を検討する。本年度は，各発達時期固有の知識統合について検討し，その発達的変化（年齢による横断的変化）を明らかにするため，ペア実験で用いる課題と発問を精査する調査を行った。５歳から小学５年生の幼児・児童を対象として，植物の仕組みと内包量の表現に関して，言葉や絵を用いた説明を求める質問紙の郵送調査を実施した。その結果，年齢が上がるに伴い，多様で物語的な論理展開から，複数の側面を構造化した論理展開へと知識統合の質が変化していく過程が示唆された。また，特に低い年齢における知識統合を捉える上で，既有知識の主体的構成を求める発問の工夫に関して課題が残った。本研究の成果については，2023年度中に学会発表を行う予定である。また，これらの結果と先行研究の知見に基づき，2023年度実施予定のペア実験で用いる課題と発問を検討した。
