本研究プロジェクトの目的は、トップマネジメントの特徴といった経営学的側面を取り入れ、それらが企業の財務行動へ及ぼす影響を検証することにある。この視点から、本年は海外査読論文3本、国内査読誌１本、２回の学会発表を行うことができた。具体的には、査読付き雑誌Pacific Basin Finance Journal に掲載された2本の“Former CEO advisors and firm performance,” "Earnings management, horizon problem, and advisor posts for retiring CEOs" では、日本で話題となっている前経営者の顧問相談役の存在が企業行動に及ぼす影響について検証を行っている。“Former CEO advisors and firm performance”論文の主な結果からは、顧問相談役の存在が現経営陣に対するガバナンスを悪化させ、結果として企業価値を低下させている可能性を指摘している。"Earnings management, horizon problem, and advisor posts for retiring CEOs" 論文の主な結果は、前経営者が顧問相談役になるために業績を高めて報告する可能性を示唆している。これらの論文の結果から、日本で注目を集めている顧問相談役の存在は、日本企業の望ましくない行動をもたらしている可能性を示唆している。また、2022年度のトップマネジメントに関するデータ整備に関しても順調に行うことができた。2023年度以降に新たに取り組むプロジェクトのため準備が十分に整えることができた。
