Inner model theoretic geology investigates which grounds a given inner model V admits, i.e., how V may be represented as a forcing extension of a model contained in V. A particular focus is in extender models V=L[E], i.e., fine structural models which are constructed from a sequence of extenders. Natural extender models with and without strong cardinals are to be classified concerning their mantle (i.e., the intersection of all of their grounds).
