2022年度の実績は主に次の5点である。一点目は，2021年度に実施したオンラインアンケート調査（首都圏，関西，四国，中国，九州圏の外国人留学生260名を対象に約50の質問項目について実施）の統計分析結果と，支援者に対するインタビュー調査結果を学会で発表したことである。留学生のキャリア意識の特徴と支援者の問題意識を広く共有することができた。二点目は，厚生労働省の有識者委員会で留学生支援の在り方を検討した講演者を招き，留学生のキャリア形成支援の現状と問題点を考える研究会を開催したことである。講演者は政府系機関や都道府県と共に外国人雇用企業を支援している専門家であり，教育機関における日本語指導の問題から入社後の異文化適応の課題まで，教育機関の教職員が何をすべきか知見が共有された。三点目は，海外学会において，都内大学，都内短期大学，地方私立大学における留学生のキャリア形成の現状と，その支援を目的とした日本語教育実践例を発表したことである。送り出し側の海外日本語教員の国内就職事情に対する理解を深めると同時に，留学生のキャリア形成支援に関する国内外の認識のずれについて検討した。四点目は，国内学会のパネルセッションにおいて，これまでの研究や上記三点を踏まえ，留学生のキャリア形成支援に関わる人・組織・機関の連携の問題点と課題について議論したことである。日本語学校，大学，大学院，留学生支援を行うNPO法人の関係者が現状報告と話題提供を行い，参加者とともに教育機関内外における連携の問題について議論した。五点目は，これまで実施してきた教員や留学生に対する調査結果を論文としてまとめたことである。以上，2022年度は，複数の調査結果について発表や報告を行うとともに，これまでの研究成果を踏まえ，専門家と知見を共有し，国内外の研究者・教育実践者と活発な議論を行った年度であったと言える。
