项目摘要

フィジーでは、民族間緊張の緩和、国民統合の達成が独立以来の最大の課題となっている。しかしながら、これまでのところ国民統合は達成されておらず、民族間の溝はいまだに存在している。その大きな要因の一つが、民族ごとに分離している初等（中等）教育の構造にあると考えられる。そこで本研究では、Allportらの主張するContact Theoryを手掛かりに、(1)初等教育における民族間の交流促進が民族間関係の改善および国民統合の発展に寄与する可能性、(2)交流促進の実行可能性の各点についての検証を通して、フィジーの初等教育における民族間交流と国民統合について、総合的な検証に挑む。これらの検証は、主に現地の初等教育機関教員へのインタビュー、生徒へのアンケート調査（他民族の生徒に対してどのような感情を持っているのか）、教育機関母体へのインタビューを通して行う。本年度（令和4年度）は、3月（令和5年）に現地調査を行い、9つの初等教育機関で教員（Head Teacher)へのインタビューを行い、それぞれの学校における生徒の民族比率の状況把握、民族間交流の状況および民族間関係の現状把握を行った。また、７つの初等教育機関より生徒に対するアンケート調査実施の許可を得た（令和5年4月～5月にかけてオンラインにてアンケート調査実施の予定を伝え、承諾を得た）。また、研究協力者であるFiji National University, College of Humanities and Educationの教員から研究協力の再開について同意をもらい、同教員の紹介のもと令和5年8月に上記7校以外でのインタビュー調査、生徒へのアンケート調査を実施することとなっている。

The biggest issue since independence is the relaxation of ethnic tensions and the achievement of national integration. National unity is not achieved, and ethnic differences exist. The structure of primary (secondary) education is mainly due to the separation of ethnic groups. This study focuses on the following aspects: (1) the possibility of improving ethnic relations and developing national integration by promoting inter-ethnic communication in primary education;(2) the challenge of evaluating the possibility of promoting inter-ethnic communication and national integration in primary education. This is the case with the examination of evidence, the application of teachers in local primary education institutions, the investigation of students 'feelings, and the application of teachers in educational institutions. This year, we conducted field surveys in March and March, conducted surveys on Head Teachers in primary education institutions, conducted surveys on student ratios in secondary schools, conducted surveys on inter-ethnic exchanges, and conducted surveys on inter-ethnic relations. The permission for the implementation of the survey was obtained from the elementary education institutions in April and May of 2005.(The permission for the implementation of the survey was obtained from April and May of 2005.)
