これまでの経験を踏まえて開発したSDGs教育に必要な知識をわかりやすく整理した副教材と副教材としてのSDGs版人生ゲームを令和4年9月に完成させ、全国の小中高に対する無償配布を行った。結果として、合計250校以上の配布が行われ、47都道府県全ての地域で教材を利用する学校が存在し、約8500人以上の生徒・児童が体験できる状態を実現した。また、教材を利用する教員に向けて、主にオンラインやビデオ教材を通じて、利用方法を共有した。それによって、各学校において実際に授業内での活用が開始された。また、一部の小学校に対してはアンケート調査を行い、教材を利用した後に、SDGsに関する興味を持つようになったのか、SDGsに関する具体的な行動に興味を持つようになったのかを確認をした。結果として、SDGsに関して約35％がSDGsの詳細に関する関心を有するようになった。ただ、それ以上に未来全般についての関心を有する児童が約39％、未来に起こる確率が高い個別の出来事についての関心を有する児童が約39％とSDGsそのものよりもわずかながらではあるが多い状況となった。本研究においては、当初全国の小中高30校程度を対象に研究を進める予定であったが、実際には250校以上の協力が得られるようになり、研究体制の構築という観点からは非常に望ましい結果となった。他方で、教材の配布作業、教員に対する利用方法の共有等、想定以上に取り組み量が増えたために、実際の意識変容・行動変容の分析については、進捗が限られてしまった。他方で、2年目以降の研究においては、アンケート等により十分な量のデータが確保できることになったため、研究結果としてはより意義の高い結果を導き出せるようになったと考えている。
