本研究は都市に在住するシリア難民障害者の状況を把握し、そのシリア難民障害者に対してジョブコーチとして関わるシリア難民障害者の活動の認識について把握して課題を抽出することである。研究実施は概ね順調に行なっている。研究協力者の協力のもと、シリア難民障害者の居住する東アンマンを中心に探索を行い、１６名のシリア難民障害者とその家族とのコンタクトが取れており、インタビューをすることができ、現在の難民状況について周知することができた。シリア難民障害者の状況として、困難点として収入がないことによる貧困、社会的役割がないことにより、在宅で過ごすことが多くなり廃用症候群が蔓延していることがインタビューから挙げられた。またアンマンは起伏にとんだ地形になっており、その物理的要素が外に出ることを阻害していた。障害者リーダーとのコンタクトは、オンラインツールzoomを使用して６名とインタビューを行うことができた。インタビュー内容は現地協力者とアラビア語から英語に翻訳作業を終えて逐語録が作成できた。作成した逐語録を元に難民や国際保健に精通する研究協力者と共に質的内容分析を行なっている。逐語録から抽出された主要なコードは、ジョブコーチを指導する指導者がいないことや、医療専門職がいないことなどが挙げられた。また継続的な課題として財源が安定せず、活動を継続することが困難であることが挙げられた。今後も内容を分析してインタビュー内容について解釈を進めていく予定である。
