本研究は、加賀藩に伝わる有沢兵学を事例として、残存する兵書講釈の聞書きを基に、加賀藩士が有沢兵学の何を受容したのか、修学課程及び受容内容について明らかにすることを目的とし、①軍書講釈に関する史料から有沢兵学の具体的な伝授課程を解明する、②加越能文庫及び国学院大学所蔵の軍書から伝授課程について書かれたものを調査する、③加賀藩以外での兵学の伝授方法等について先行研究調査等により比較する、の3つの側面から研究を進めることを計画した。本研究期間中は結果として主に①及び②の一部にのみ注力することになった。①については、研究開始以前より収集していた前田土佐守家史料館蔵の『軍法聞書』等では、前田土佐守家当主の前田直射は、有沢盛貞、貞幹等の有沢家より講釈を受けていたことがわかる。講釈の内容は主に『甲陽軍鑑』である。講釈の内容にも特に変わったことはなく、修学にあたって『甲陽軍鑑』の内容を習熟することが目的だったと考えられる。また、前田直射は甲陽軍鑑末書についての私見を書き記していることからも、講釈を聞くだけでなく独自の解釈を行うことで兵学を深く理解しようとした形跡がみられるのが興味深い。さらに、『甲陽軍鑑』だけでなく有沢永貞が著した『疋夫抄』についての聞書も残っている。これらの史料から、有沢兵学の修学にあたっては、有沢兵学が甲州流の一派ということもあり、甲陽軍鑑の講釈を受けることが中心であったことが改めて確認されたこと、有沢家は多様な兵学に関するテキストを著しているが、それらのテキストについては、甲陽軍鑑について習熟が深まってから講釈を受けていることがわかる。そのため、有沢兵学の伝播を考える際には、甲州流兵学を修学するという面と、加賀藩兵学の有沢兵学という面を分けて検討する必要があると考えられる。しかし、当初計画よりも史料解読が進まなかったこともあり、②の加越能文庫所蔵史料調査は充分にできなかった。また、当初計画にあった、②の国学院大學所蔵史料調査や③の他藩比較については、今後の検討課題としたい。
