前年度までの小学校・中学校における箏を中心とした和楽器の学習指導法の研究を踏まえ、小学校高学年・中学校における和楽器を中心とした箏の創作活動の在り方を実践を通して考えた。まず、カリキュラム構築にあたり、これまでに附属平野小学校・中学校で実施されていた和楽器を用いた学習を附属中学校教諭の協力を得て分析をすることで、指導内容の系統性を図る上で、どのような指導内容を扱うのか、それらの指導内容をどのような順序で扱うのか、ということが重要であるということが改めて明らかになった。指導内容の取り上げ方においては、楽曲のよさを構成する音楽の諸要素は何かという視点で抽出した。そして、その指導内容を取り扱うにあたって、よりその指導内容が顕著に現れている楽曲を用いることが有用であることが明らかになった。そのような分析を踏まえ、小学校高学年における「うさぎ」を用いた箏による創作活動を実践・分析した。「うさぎ」を演奏するにあたり、情景を想起する場を設定し、何度もうたったり、箏による演奏を聴いたりすることから自らのイメージする情景をイラストに表す活動を取り入れた。このような活動により自らのイメージをより具体化し、創作活動における表現につなげていく姿がみられた。ペアで活動する場を設定することで、お互いのイメージを絡み合わせながら表現を豊かに創作していくことができた。今回の取り組みを通して、子どもたちのイメージを具体化する手立てを踏まえ、系統立てた創作活動を展開することの重要性が明らかになった。このような系統性を整理し、小学校1年生から中学校3年生までの和楽器を中心とした創作活動のカリキュラムを完成させた。
